Hello and Welcome to my website about Pulp Novels .
My name is Robert Bussie. I created this website for two reasons. The first is my love of pulp art. I feel that this is a highly under-rated art form. I wanted to share the terrific drawings and paintings. They have a lot of emotion and intrigue to them. The second reason I made this website is for a class final project in S681: History of the Book taught by Dr. Annette Lamb. This is a graduate level class in the Masters of Library program at Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI).
With this website I want to present a brief history of pulp novels. However, my core attention for this site is to present some of the beautiful art work that graced the covers and insides of many pulp novels. Book illustrations are an important part of books. It enhances the stories and is a source of great enjoyment. There is a tab that has a brief history of dime novels. There are also several tabs of similar genres of pulp art grouped together. In the future I would like to highlight specific artist, however for the limited time I have for this project the art work will have to speak for themselves. I also provided a tab for my cited sources.
Please take a moment or two and click around this website. All the images are considered open source and no longer hold a copyright.
Thank You.
